PBS’ Resident Librarian ‘Mychal the Librarian’ Headlines Youth Mental Health Event at Lincoln Library

 Mychal the Librarian is partnering with the Office of the California Surgeon General Live Beyond – ACEs campaign to share how reading stories of resilience and overcoming life’s obstacles can help youth heal. 

Sacramento, CA – PBS’s Resident Librarian, Mychal the Librarian, will headline a special youth mental health event focused on raising awareness of ACEs, toxic stress, and the healing power of books at Lincoln Public Library. The event, hosted in partnership with California’s Live Beyond campaign as well as the Children and Youth Behavior Health Initiative (CYBHI), is part of Mental Health Awareness Month and will also feature a variety of stress-busting and wellness activities, including succulent making and terracotta pot painting, a tea-making and herbalism station, a healing book station, and more.

The event will take place during Mental Health Awareness Month, on Saturday, May 10th at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Public Library in the Sacramento Area.
