This integrated care symposium is dedicated to the well-being of California’s children and youth, sharing best practices and highlighting the work counties and organizations are doing for children, youth, and families.
The region’s largest Día de Los Muertos event, this free, family-centric festival in Historic Main Street Canoga Park featured works of local artists, community tent for ofrendas, an Aztec ceremony, and more.
More than 2,000 Native educators, students, tribal leaders, and advocates joined us at the largest Native education convention in the nation. This year’s theme was “Education Sovereignty: A Declaration of Change.”
A safe place for Tribal youth, this conference serves as a platform for discussing the juvenile justice system — focusing on prevention and intervention, and addressing the specific mental health and substance use challenges they face.
We joined the festivities — including the largest parade celebrating the Lunar New Year outside of Asia — where we gave out free healing journals and other helpful resources.
Live Beyond partnered with San Diego’s NWSL team to promote the campaign at games and youth tournaments — presenting at halftime, hosting a social media contest, giving out swag, and more.
We partnered with civil rights organization National Urban League for an event that took place at Audubon Middle School, offering support to students who are involved in the foster care system.
Held at UC Riverside, this conference provided Black youth with strategies, opportunities, and tools to grow their leadership skills. Live Beyond hosted a journaling workshop for the event’s 470 participants!
Live Beyond partnered with California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), the largest state association in high school sports, to sponsor state wrestling and basketball championships.
For this gathering, 125 Potawatomi tribal members came from as far north as Eureka and as far south as Yosemite. Live Beyond joined too, talking about ACEs and toxic stress, and providing resources to attendees.
In partnership with the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services, the Self-Healing Communities project hosted a screening of the one-hour ACEs documentary “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope.” Live Beyond youth advisor Celina Aquino engaged with attendees at our table, where we had info and resources about healing from ACEs.
The California School-Based Health Alliance presented the School Health Conference April 28–April 29, 2025. Beween 700 and 800 leaders in school health were in attendance, and learned more about ACEs from Julio, one of our youth advisors, and received materials to take back to their communities and classrooms.
Live Beyond youth advisor Swey spoke to attendees at the CYBHI (Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative) Local Level Convening. We presented our upcoming healing activities for Mental Health Awareness Month in May, and gave out free resources.
Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Live Beyond held events at libraries throughout California. At South San Francisco Public Library, our event included succulent planting, an affirmation wall, a book station with book raffle, herbalism and tea-making, and a Live Beyond resource table with journals, stickers, and bookmarks!
Live Beyond held an activation at the Lincoln Public Library near Sacramento. Over 200 attendees joined us! Our event included succulent planting and terracotta pot painting, herbalism and tea-making, a healing book station, a Live Beyond resource table, a book raffle, and featured speaker Mychal the Librarian, who also took photos with attendees.
Two of our youth advisors, Julio and Swey, joined the ACEs Aware Day event at the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center on May 13 and May 20, 2025. They talked to attendees about ACEs while giving out helpful resources like our popular healing journal.
We wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Month in May at Mission Viejo Public Library, where Live Beyond hosted an activation featuring fun, stress-busting activity stations — including board games, succulent planting, affirmation-painting on pebbles, and a book raffle.
