Darius the Great Is Not Okay

Adib Khorram

Darius the Great Is Not Okay centers on Darius Kellner, a high school student who struggles with depression and feeling like he doesn’t fully belong—either in America, where he’s often treated as “too Persian,” or in Iran, where he visits his extended family for the first time.

During his trip, he builds a strong friendship with a boy named Sohrab, discovers more about his family, culture, and himself, and begins to understand what it means to be okay, even if everything isn’t perfect. This is a heartfelt and relatable story about mental health, identity, and the beauty of real connection.
